Everybody talks about twin flames these days. Is he my twin flame? Are we meant to be together? I can't forget my twin flame, how can I heal? When will I find my twin flame? Is there a twin flame out there for me?
Like the relationship itself, the definitions of twin flames are polarized. One camp talks about the perfect divine counterpart that you are meant to be with forever and ever. The other camp is saying no, twin flames are catalysts for spiritual evolution! They were never meant to be in a romantic relationship the way we understand it.
The third camp, which will most likely grow in numbers in a few more years, will say, oh, screw this nonsense, I'll just marry my plumber and live happily (and abundantly!) ever after.
But definitions and classifications come from the mind. The mind has evolved to classify and categorize. That is its job. But we don't fall in love through our minds.
The very real Kundalini awakenings do not happen in the mind! The heartbreak, tears and suffering are not in the mind either. Soul connections are not a figment of our imagination nor a construct of the mind. And as such, they will not be reduced to neat definitions and to-do lists. You can't "manifest a twin flame" if by manifest you mean a 10-step practice to do for the next 20 days.
Oh no! The real thing will break you and shake you and will destroy everything you had ever relied on. Because that's what it was meant to do.
Soul relationships are meant to strip you of everything that is fake, and wake you up to everything that is real. That it is a painful process is just a side effect, and shows the sad state of our personality self and the relationship templates at this day and age.
But to reduce soul relationships to a construct of the mind will never work. You can't approach the real thing from the ego and its wounded projections. It's not about whether this is your twin flame or not, and when will you get married. It's about what you are going to do about the suffering you are going through. Do you want to hold on to it, or are you ready to begin living?
In this podcast episode, I talk about soul relationships as a process of alchemical initiation, where we are forced to face ourselves and take radical 100% responsibility for our lives.
