Can we build a business from our heart and soul? Or does our spiritual life need to be separate from business and finances? And before you rush to answer these questions, I'll throw in another one for you: do you think being a woman makes you answer differently?
After all, we have seen many successful man-made spiritual businesses. Or at the very least, businesses that used spirituality as a way to attract capital. One only needs to remember Osho and his Rolls Royces, drive past a megachurch or visit Vatican Museums.
But a folk healer and midwife living on the edge of a forest may not have done this well in life. Neither have the countless women who exchanged their lives and time for free emotional and physical labor, raising a family, caring for dying relatives, making dinners and cleaning the house. It is now the descendants of these same women that are being told, "how can you charge money for spirituality?" It is now these same women who timidly call their fee an "energy exchange" or a "donation."
I believe a new paradigm is emerging, and we are a part of its birth. A paradigm where we can, and do, work from our heart and soul — and are being rewarded for it. Where we can create wealth and build the future, not based on greed or spiritual hunger, but on abundance and deep respect for time and effort of others. This is the paradigm of soulful entrepreneurship.
And soulful entrepreneurship is exactly what we are talking about in this podcast with Lexi Godlewski!
We share our own stories, the courage we needed to get started on the path. We talk about feminine versus more masculine models of running a business, the joys and challenges of living from the soul, and the ways we can help others grow.
